Sneak peek on my submission for Strumpet!

Here's a sneak peak of 5 page short comic that I'm working on for upcoming Strumpet comic-zine. This issue is about "traveling" and I thought it'd be fun to throw in my memoir about what happened when I went to Italy back in 2009. It's a lot of fun drawing a personal story in this looser, playful style. Thanks Ellen (who is posing with her page for Strumpet) for encouraging me to do this! So excited to be in this wonderful zine, full of talented female artists from around the globe. Check out the Strumpet website for more details about the upcoming issue and where you can get them. Stay tune for more detail!

Lono and Pira from Spera

Thanks to my studio mate Mike Caballaro, I got introduced to a wonderful graphic novel called "Spera". it's written by Josh Tierney and illustrated by dozens of different artists. Spera website is full of wonderfully imagined world of Spera, and I love that each artist brings something totally new and different from each other, yet continuing the same narrative. I'm thinking of drawing a Spera fan fiction short comics for fun! Here's the character sketch for Lono and Pira, the main characters of Spera. Stay tuned for more! :)

Anita Blake and Jean-Claude

I drew a few character sketch of Anita Blake and Jean-Claude, main characters from a very popular novel series. I've never read the book, so they might be a bit different from what they are really like in the book. I did get a bit goose bumpy when drawing Jean-Claude's Magnum stare and open lacy blouse, but it was so much fun to just give in to the guilty pleasure of drawing completely over the top "romatic" images. I wonder why there are so many male characters in fantasy/ romance genre who just wouldn't look hot or cool in real life... unless you are Brad Pitt from the interview with the vampire, this hair style or clothing choices would  look pretty ridiculous in reality. But hopefully I pull it off on my drawings somehow.
