Strumpet is a comic magazine edited and produced by my awesome studio mate Ellen Lindner and her friend and a fellow cartoonist Jeremy Day. It contains comics by many talented female cartoonists from the U.K. and United States and I'm so excited to be part of their next issue which is about Traveling. This issue is much bigger than the last one, 80 + pages! The contributing artists include Kripa Joshi (Miss Moti), Julia Scheele (Peckham Invalids), Patrice Aggs (The DFC and The Phoenix), Emily Ryan Lerner (Buy Olympia), Badaude (Tate, Guardian, Times),Tanya Meditzky (The Man Who Clapped), Choi Juhyun (Under The Skin of the Wolf), Robin Ha (Marvel), Karrie Fransman (The Guardian, the Times, The House that Groaned), and many more.
We are trying to raise funds to print and distribute this issue of Strumpet through Kick Starter and we need all of your help to reach our goal. Please visit the Kick Starter page to find out more about this issue of Strumpet and donate! Every little bit helps. Your donation not only will provide funds to print and distribute them, but you'll also get this issue of the strumpet, the last issue of Strumpet, and also a copy of awesome prints and badges made by the contributing artists depending on the amount of your donation. Strumpet has given the platform for all different types of female storytellers from U.K. and U.S. and it'd be an awesome thing to continue publishing this gem of indie comics.
My piece on this issue is a 5 pages short memoir about my encounters with a "thief" and a "charming seducer" in my travel through Italy couple years back. Here's a sneak peek.
If you want to find out what happened in my travel to Italy, and also read what the other fabulous female cartoonists around the globe have to tell about "Going Places", please visit Kick Starter and help us publish the Strumpet #2!
